new narrative poem for topic Theme: “Tread Lightly at the Borders of Extreme Action”

Extreme Nonsense

It was reality TV/social media violence, it seemed everyone was watching. It was a step up from eating slugs on the hit TV show with the flavor of the week extreme radio host. It was the ideology of stylized violence, the first ever interactive platform for raising a monster.

It seemed everyone was watching it, talking about it, meeting about it, taking part in it in different ways, while hating all those who were taking part in it in different ways. We had some postmortem conferences about it and discovered we all went about it the wrong way, but we couldn’t change our ways.

It seemed everyone loved to be extreme. Everyone seemed to ignore the fact that only 10 percent of us are extreme and appreciate extreme things. It seemed everyone forgot that everyone had to deal with

stuttering/bad eyesight/one foot missing/confinement to wheelchairs/living with chronic diseases/wild depression/wild optimism/the cost of dining out/relying on family/relying on friends/partially relying on the government/relying on goodwill/partially relying on goodwill/taking charity/donating to charity/donating to others/developing projects with others/losing projects because of others/losing projects because of over-enthusiasm/losing projects because of self-doubt/bad chemistry/good chemistry/living with others/seeing others/shopping/working/working out/not working/not working out/having bad hearing/having bad skin/using canes/using heart monitors/using slow cars/using small cars/not owning cars/not investing/lousy credit rates/inflation/inflation forecasts/grocery buying/car buying/insurance buying/not having enough savings/having the right amount of credit/having bad retirement plans/having no retirement plans/having no childcare/having bad childcare/having to overpay good nannies/having to overpay a good governess/having to pay too much for colleges/having to pay too much for vocational training & certification/not paying enough for a computer/not having access to warp-speed internet at all times/not having access to smart-phones at all times/not having access to libraries/not having access to lawyers/not having access to first-class tax consultation/not being able to build a fast, new computer/new cars/racism/prejudice/hatred/wars/not knowing a second language/needing a second job/working on a second marriage/worries about a first marriage/worries about being able to marry/worries about being able to have kids/worries about being able to have a family/worries about protecting a family/worries about the safety of kids/worries about the safety of everyone/worries about the future/ dealing with etc.

  1. I definitely felt anxiety rising in me as I read this piece. I found myself reading faster and faster. I'm not sure, but I think this is a compliment to the author ! Your writing is effective and the take away is exausting...
