Poem: Light and Darkness in Fall
By Janet Stout
The red of apples and it's crisp fresh taste.
Baked in dumplings pies and crisps are a great fall treat.
The pallet waters as the taste of the treats goes down, down, down.
The yellow, red and orange leaves changing on the autumn trees and, blowing in the breezes of a fall thunderstorm.
As the rain beats against the windows and, the thunder rolls and the lightning flashes and cracks.
Across an October storm cloud filled sky.
The nightmares that wake us up when we have watched, listened to or read a scary tale.
Makes the skin crawl and us jump in fright.
Even in the midst of the nightmares.
There is beauty all around us in the fall, fall, fall.
